ITS#7 Heavenly Sins

ITS: International Talent Support, a platform for young talents from different fields of creativity from all over the globe, is on its way and is headed straight towards the event to be held from 18-19 July 2008 in Trieste, Italy.

ITS#SEVEN is here, the rocket has launched. Hours of tension waiting for the fuel to arrive, checking and re-checking all systems, making sure everything is ready. We’re all on board now, you and us, eager to see where this journey will take us and who we will meet along the way. Noses are pressed up against the porthole as the sky slowly turns to black and the stars appear...
Every year we introduce a different concept for the image that represents us and this year we have the 7 Heavenly Sins. Why do we accept sins and virtues as a given? Are all sins wrong and are all virtues right? In this context - and in our opinion - the 7 sins of ITS are the characteristics that a real talent must have.

ITS#FASHION: Now in its seventh year, it is a competition for fashion design students and young fashion designers around the world. Being selected as a finalist opens the doors to a wide range of opportunities. You might have your clothes displayed and sold in one of the most important boutiques during Paris Fashion Week. You could end up working as a stylist for photo shoots to be published in the most important magazines. You could win a cash prize to create a new collection and come back to the following edition of ITS to present it to the public and press and be a part of the Jury. You could receive free fabrics for your collection. You could be contacted by the most important companies in the field for internships, work experiences, job opportunities. This and much more could happen, thanks to Diesel, i-D magazine, Maria Luisa, Vertice, Puntoseta.

ITS#ACCESSORIES: There is a strong need for well prepared, talented accessories designers. This is why 4 years ago we decided to create this competition for accessories design students and young accessories designers. The selected finalists will have the chance to win cash prizes and have their accessories be the focus of a professional photo shoot to be used for communicational purposes around the world. They could fly to Italy to work on the production of their accessories side by side with one of the best companies in this field. These are all tangible opportunities thanks to the contribution of YKK and Salvatore Ferragamo.

ITS#PHOTO: Young photographers out there, get ready! The call is not only for photography students and young photographers out there. This time the competition will also have an online section where anyone can enroll. No age limit, no specific education requested. As long as you have a camera, you can participate! You could be the next one to work on a professional photo shoot together with a renowned photographer, the result of which will be presented in a dedicated exhibition event and published in magazines. Or you could be asked to shoot the advertising campaign of renowned fashion fairs. You could have your photos exposed in a dedicated exhibition at the Munich International Airport. You could win loads of photography products, maybe travel to some far away country for reportage work, or win a master’s course at one the most important photography schools in the world. All this thanks to MINI, PITTI Immagine, SVA - School of Visual Arts, New York and Air Dolomiti.

ITS#ARCHIVE: EVE, the agency responsible for the creation and organisation of International Talent Support, is also working on two important new projects. ITS#ARCHIVE comes from the will to give everyone access to the incredible amount of creativity collected by ITS through the years. It is a creative archive in the attic over the EVE offices in Trieste (North-East Italy), open to the public and displaying more than 5000 portfolios, outfits, accessories and photo projects collected during the years through ITS. It will grow year by year, always collecting more creativity coming not only from ITS, but from other sources as well.
THE SEISMOGRAPHER is an editorial project which will see the light in December 2008. It will aim at analysing the pulse of young creativity gathered by EVE during the year, using concepts, materials, colours and shapes as criteria, looking at the way they are used by the applicants of the three different areas composing ITS. An instrument that demonstrates how ideas are simply floating in the air and are caught and individually filtered by different persons in different places.
